POOPING IN THE TUB

It had to happen sometime.  After all this talk about how such a relaxing and special time it was to take a nice, warm bubble bath with my daughter it.  finally.  happened.  Sofia pooped in the tub.  She didn't poop just once, but twice.  Back to back nights.  And you know what?  I'm okay with it.

I really didn't think I'd be okay squatting over my freshly drawn bath with a plastic cup fishing for pieces of yellow turds, but alas, here we are.  I can't wait to tell her about this when she's just old enough to be embarrassed.  I'll tell her about how red her face got as she was pushing it out.  I'll tell her how the moment I looked into her eyes and realized what she was doing I just started busting up laughing at her telling her "no no no no... not right no... ohhhhh my gosh... here we go..."  I LAUGHED while YOU POOPED.  Do any of you remember the last time your mother was two feet in front of your face holding on to you while you took a crap in your bathtub?  I have that memory.  So does she.

i know you probably wish sofia would stop growing so quickly, as most parents do, but i'm so excited to watch her grow up on here :) and of course, read more stories like this.

Easter Weekend

Hello! Happy mid-week to you. This is the roll of photos we shot over our Easter weekend , and oh what a wonderful weekend it was. It was so nice to have family here to visit - even if the weather was cooler than we anticipated! We visited the redwoods in Felton, ate vegetarian burritos, went to the epic shoreside in Montara, and the brewing company in Half Moon Bay. Our hearts are full and our home is feeling quite empty now ;) As a side note, I've found a renewed love with film. This is a post for another time, but it bears mentioning here! There has been much on my mind re: photography, and hopefully this will be the space I can share that. For the curious, all the above were shot on a Nikon FM10 with Fuji Superia 400 speed film.

Hello, It's Me

* screeeeeeech.... opens door * Hello? Are you in there? I'm baaaaaaack! Holy shnikeys! It's only been a good two years or so. Talk about a blogging hiatus. So, after many many failed attempts at fancy Squarespace sites and having absolutely zero direction on which way I wanted to go, I found myself right back here. Good 'ol blogger. Good 'ol free simple template. Good 'ol feed with all my old friends. It's been a long, long time. And it feels weird! But I'm dusting off the cobwebs anyway and just writing because I need to. Plain and simple. Now, a few things-- the blog title is a bit different. My kiddos are nearly three and five years old so diapers [thankfully] are a thing of the past. Hallelujah! And if you haven't heard, folks, skinny jeans are out. They're done! Bring on the bellbottoms, culottes and 90's fashion revival. You heard it here first, everyone. Just wait.  Also. Growing up. I kinda laugh at how much...

alba growing: one month

A few weeks ago, Little Alba turned a month old - still so new and tiny, but a precious soul that seems like she's been here all along.  Her thighs are quickly chunking up, as are her cheeks, and this mama can't get enough! The days are long and my time is stretched thin, but we are having such a wonderful time just figuring each other out. When evening hits, the tummy troubles begin and we rock and sing to make the gas bubbles go away. Once you've finally fallen asleep, you'll remain that way for the remainder of the night and we'll feed again once the day breaks.  You are alert and learning, constantly filling our hearts with more love than we ever imagined.
