HAPPY 8 MONTHS, SOFIA!

Well, we're a tad bit late on the monthly photos, forgive me!  The beginning of February really got the best of me, but now with my birthday over and Valentine's upon us, I've had a second to snap a few photos of my growing daughter:

HIGHLIGHTS
This month, Sofia has been starting to string her constants together, ("ta-ta, phl-phl," and what Erick is sure was "da-da.")  I'm not so sure, though! ;)
She also has been eating thicker textures, army crawling all over the house, clapping her hands to the english and spanish versions of "patty-cake" and waking up a little earlier in the morning.

STATS
Weight: 23 lbs. 99% percentile
Height: 71 cms. 90% percentile
Head: 44 cms. 84% percentile
*right on track for everything, we're super happy.

Honestly, I'm almost in shock that it's already been eight months.  This entire first year of hers has flown by even though I've been holding on to it so tightly. Before I blink, she will be turning a year old already, we'll be helping her destroy her first piñata, and she will be face-first in birthday cake.  What a whirlwind these months have been, full of happiness, tears, struggle and accomplishment.  Erick and I are so proud of everything Sofia is becoming, and everyday are reminded of how blessed we are to have such a happy and healthy baby.

Easter Weekend

Hello! Happy mid-week to you. This is the roll of photos we shot over our Easter weekend , and oh what a wonderful weekend it was. It was so nice to have family here to visit - even if the weather was cooler than we anticipated! We visited the redwoods in Felton, ate vegetarian burritos, went to the epic shoreside in Montara, and the brewing company in Half Moon Bay. Our hearts are full and our home is feeling quite empty now ;) As a side note, I've found a renewed love with film. This is a post for another time, but it bears mentioning here! There has been much on my mind re: photography, and hopefully this will be the space I can share that. For the curious, all the above were shot on a Nikon FM10 with Fuji Superia 400 speed film.

mum + bub skincare review + giveaway!

Happy Wednesday to all of you!  It's my favorite day of the week. Today, I spent a lazy day at home with the girls and one thing we all enjoy doing when we get a little stir crazy is to hop in a bubble bath together and relax for a bit. I've always bathed with my girls, its an experience I know I'll cherish looking back on forever. When the wonderful people at aden + anais asked if I would review their new mum + bub skincare line, I immediately responded with a resounding "YES!" If anyone knows me, you know that I've already purchased every single swaddle they've ever made because I think they are the best things ever. I use them for everything under the sun: nursing covers, sleep blankets, sun shields, carseat covers, play blankets, and yes of course to swaddle Alba up at night. Knowing how much I already loved this company, I just knew that any avenue they pursued would have to turn out amazing - I was right. Today I'm g...

welcoming fall: hiking together

A while back, I had posted about dreading the change of the season.  I was so caught up in my whirlwind of a summer, the beautiful weather, the bare feet, the music and late night dancing in the wilderness, camping, and vacations that I barely remembered or welcomed the un-rushed pace that comes with the beginning of fall. Living in the middle of the city has been a blessing for finding new, exciting and bustling places to eat and explore, but so many times I'm wishing for the opportunity to do something a little less... urban .  I grew up in the country, and Erick, in the city- so now we've been doing our best to give our child the best of both worlds. We took a drive about 40 minutes south of the city to a little place in the suburbs and welcomed the crisp and cool air that kissed our cheeks as we embarked on a tiny adventure in the forest.  Hiking with a toddler is such an enriching exper...
