BON VOYAGE!

Hello, friends!  As of right now we are almost all packed up and will be hitting the road to Michigan in a few short hours.  It seems as if I was dreaming about this day since the night I left the forest in 2009- I left a little piece of my soul there, and now I'm finally coming back "home" to be reunited with the rest of me.  It may sound crazy to some people, but the experience I've had for two years in this magical space is unparalleled.  Erick and I are going together and hope to meet some new friends along the way.  I am armed with all of my hoops, and we plan on documenting this in the most spectacular way.  I know I will have done my job if somehow, just maybe, I can give you all a glimpse of the wonder the woods of Rothbury are, as if you were experiencing it yourselves.

The blog will be pretty quiet until our return on Monday unless we can finagle our way into the Media tent for wifi.  I cannot wait to share stories, photos, and videos with all of you!  We will, however, be taking more of a live-stream of events on Instagram for you to follow along with on the way.  Catch us here:

Easter Weekend

Hello! Happy mid-week to you. This is the roll of photos we shot over our Easter weekend , and oh what a wonderful weekend it was. It was so nice to have family here to visit - even if the weather was cooler than we anticipated! We visited the redwoods in Felton, ate vegetarian burritos, went to the epic shoreside in Montara, and the brewing company in Half Moon Bay. Our hearts are full and our home is feeling quite empty now ;) As a side note, I've found a renewed love with film. This is a post for another time, but it bears mentioning here! There has been much on my mind re: photography, and hopefully this will be the space I can share that. For the curious, all the above were shot on a Nikon FM10 with Fuji Superia 400 speed film.

Hello, It's Me

* screeeeeeech.... opens door * Hello? Are you in there? I'm baaaaaaack! Holy shnikeys! It's only been a good two years or so. Talk about a blogging hiatus. So, after many many failed attempts at fancy Squarespace sites and having absolutely zero direction on which way I wanted to go, I found myself right back here. Good 'ol blogger. Good 'ol free simple template. Good 'ol feed with all my old friends. It's been a long, long time. And it feels weird! But I'm dusting off the cobwebs anyway and just writing because I need to. Plain and simple. Now, a few things-- the blog title is a bit different. My kiddos are nearly three and five years old so diapers [thankfully] are a thing of the past. Hallelujah! And if you haven't heard, folks, skinny jeans are out. They're done! Bring on the bellbottoms, culottes and 90's fashion revival. You heard it here first, everyone. Just wait.  Also. Growing up. alba growing: one month

A few weeks ago, Little Alba turned a month old - still so new and tiny, but a precious soul that seems like she's been here all along.  Her thighs are quickly chunking up, as are her cheeks, and this mama can't get enough! The days are long and my time is stretched thin, but we are having such a wonderful time just figuring each other out. When evening hits, the tummy troubles begin and we rock and sing to make the gas bubbles go away. Once you've finally fallen asleep, you'll remain that way for the remainder of the night and we'll feed again once the day breaks.  You are alert and learning, constantly filling our hearts with more love than we ever imagined.
