BROOKE + ANDY || CHICAGO WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER

I spent the day with a fellow (amazing!) photographer friend of mine that you may remember from the blog, Justina Olenick.  Today I was assisting her in an engagement session with a wonderful couple that just so happened to come out of an area where we both used to live as children.  What a small world!  These were the snaps that I was able to catch on my end while Justina worked her magic.  Though, I'm sure when she's ready I'll have a post to share of hers, as well. ;)

You may notice a lack of eye contact in these, but you know what?

Call me crazy,

I almost like it better that way!

Brooke and Andy are such a sweet, sweet couple.  Even in those first few moments when you all try to break the ice, Brooke would smile as Andy cracked the jokes - definitely an entertaining bunch these two were!  I had such an amazing time, and can't wait for their upcoming nuptials!  I wish them nothing but many more years of happiness together.

  1. I love these! Really, really lovely. Maybe I'm wrong, but I think eye-contact is overrated :)

  3. The lack of eye contact totally works if you ask me. It's like they are in their own little world, and you just happen to be observing all the love. So sweet. The photos with the yellow flowers are stunning!

Easter Weekend

Hello! Happy mid-week to you. This is the roll of photos we shot over our Easter weekend , and oh what a wonderful weekend it was. It was so nice to have family here to visit - even if the weather was cooler than we anticipated! We visited the redwoods in Felton, ate vegetarian burritos, went to the epic shoreside in Montara, and the brewing company in Half Moon Bay. Our hearts are full and our home is feeling quite empty now ;) As a side note, I've found a renewed love with film. This is a post for another time, but it bears mentioning here! There has been much on my mind re: photography, and hopefully this will be the space I can share that. For the curious, all the above were shot on a Nikon FM10 with Fuji Superia 400 speed film.

Hello, It's Me

* screeeeeeech.... opens door * Hello? Are you in there? I'm baaaaaaack! Holy shnikeys! It's only been a good two years or so. Talk about a blogging hiatus. So, after many many failed attempts at fancy Squarespace sites and having absolutely zero direction on which way I wanted to go, I found myself right back here. Good 'ol blogger. Good 'ol free simple template. Good 'ol feed with all my old friends. It's been a long, long time. And it feels weird! But I'm dusting off the cobwebs anyway and just writing because I need to. Plain and simple. Now, a few things-- the blog title is a bit different. My kiddos are nearly three and five years old so diapers [thankfully] are a thing of the past. Hallelujah! And if you haven't heard, folks, skinny jeans are out. They're done! Bring on the bellbottoms, culottes and 90's fashion revival. You heard it here first, everyone. Just wait.  Also. Growing up. I kinda laugh at how much...

alba growing: one month

A few weeks ago, Little Alba turned a month old - still so new and tiny, but a precious soul that seems like she's been here all along.  Her thighs are quickly chunking up, as are her cheeks, and this mama can't get enough! The days are long and my time is stretched thin, but we are having such a wonderful time just figuring each other out. When evening hits, the tummy troubles begin and we rock and sing to make the gas bubbles go away. Once you've finally fallen asleep, you'll remain that way for the remainder of the night and we'll feed again once the day breaks.  You are alert and learning, constantly filling our hearts with more love than we ever imagined.
