It's been a year.


I can’t believe how much can happen in a years time, that’s for sure.  I look at this picture and remember so much, having a beer either before or after one of his gigs.  Let me tell you- it’s awesome courting a DJ because you have the perfect opportunity for “dates”.  Every time he had a gig, we’d be able to go out, have a beer, I’d watch him play and we’d get the chance to talk and meet people.  It was never awkward because we were surrounded by friends, yet it always left me craving more.  I didn’t want to be a part of the Starfoxxx fan club or seem like a groupie.  I was in love.
We weren’t even dating yet in this picture.
You were thinking pretty heavily about something and I’m smiling about something, and was lucky our friend Magali was there to capture this moment.  It’s one that brings me back.  And to think now we’re expecting our first little girl in June and have our awesome little place… it’s crazy.  I am still fascinated every single day by this man.  I’m happy he’s my future husband and the father of my daughter.

Week 27 Update

Hello fellow internet peoples.  Decided to give a HD video update for the beginning of my third trimester.  (WE SO EXCITED!)  It was a ton of fun to make, this time we were at home in Chicago.  Erick had a bunch of lighting equipment after all the interviews he did with the chicago school councils, so before he had to ship them back we took full advantage ;)  I'm learning more about codec and h.264 and prores 422 and although it makes absolutely no sense to me, maybe it will be useful knowledge in the future.  What do I know? It was obviously a very gesture laden, emotional, 10 minute interview.  I hope you all enjoy it.  It really is longer than I expected but instead of completely chopping it up, I decided to leave it how it is.  It's pure, natural, pregnant-y goodness of brain farts, odd humor, and searching for the right words.  If you make it to the end, remind me to give you a gold star or something.  I'll do it. ** A ...

bump : week 23

The sub-zero weather has kept us indoors, but it hasn't kept us from having the most amount of fun possible.  I've been enjoying hot cups of tea served with teaspoons of sugar and condensed milk, curling up with my favorite blanket and enjoying the tap-tap, nudge-nudge of the littlest De La Rosa.  Though I find myself playing catch up yet again (I'm 24 weeks!) I'm not complaining in the least bit.  I've had this little family of mine all to myself for a full four days with no work, no emails, no agenda and no pressure.   Ahhhhh... happy winter celebration, little baby. PS- did you know Erick finally launched his website ?  It's up, it's responsive, and it's gorgeous. I'm a proud muma bear.
