The Remembering Now Project, 2012 Catch the rest of the series here . This day, exactly a year ago, we made sugar cookies just you and I.  You were six months old and too little to help, so I wore you against my chest. This year you are much bigger, able to laugh and cut out stars, to proclaim excitedly "coooookie!" and of course - taste the sweet reward for putting in all that hard work.

remembering now: november 15th, 2012

The remembering now project, 2012. Catch the rest of the series here . Papa painted us a chalkboard wall yesterday, right beside the entrance to the kitchen.  It's just big enough for mama to write her lists up top, but perfectly sized for little scribbles at the bottom.

the remembering now project, 2012. catch the rest of the series here . little one, there's not too much that doesn't seem like the biggest adventure to you.  we were on top of a parking garage before a trip to get our groceries, but we pretended we were on top of the whole city .

remembering now : october 30th, 2012

The remembering now project, 2012. Catch the rest of the series here . We are in the "new face" phase.  This girl may look exactly like her Papa, but all those silly faces definitely come from Mama.  It seems every week she's added a new expression into her arsenal...

remembering now : october 24th, 2012

The remembering now project, 2012. Catch the rest of the series here . Today we basked in the autumn weather and all of its glory.  Leaves are still an interesting fascination.

The remembering now project, 2012. Catch the rest of the series here . Sofia and her "swing face".  Never fails to give me a good laugh.  That, and her slide hair ;)

remembering now : october 11th 2012

The Remembering Now Project, 2012. Catch the rest of the series here . This is what we like to call Sofia's "slide hair".  It makes me giggle!

remembering now: park playtime edition

The remembering now project, 2012. Catch the rest of the series  here . For as long as I can remember, I've been only shooting one or two photos for this series. I'm strongly compelled this week, however, to show much more. We went to the park just muma and daughter this past Friday and  while it was a bit unusual being without our normal playdate, it seems lately we've been spending a lot of quality time together, just her and I. The bond Sofia and I share at this stage in her life is stronger than it's ever been. I remember back to the teary weaning days , when I thought the unexpected end to our breastfeeding journey would push us further apart- how very wrong I was. Things are so amazing right now, sometimes it's even hard to put into words... the biggest change has been actually hearing her say my name as "muma". For a full year, I was "baba," or "bama," but never an arms-outstretched-I-need-...

remembering now: september 12th 2012

the remembering now project, 2012. catch the rest of the series here . We're still waiting on cutting Sofia's hair, and luckily the one thing she'll leave in is a tiny pony or top knot.   Still no luck with any kind of clip, but we're trying.  Such an interesting feat keeping those little wisps of hair out of her eyes lately!

remembering now, september 8th 2012

The Remembering Now Project, 2012. Catch the rest of the series here . What are the uncanny odds of running into another baby, wearing a nearly identical outfit (including amber teething necklace!) in a crowd of well over 50,000 people?  Such a special day.

REMEMBERING NOW, AUGUST 22ND 2012

The remembering now project, 2012. Catch the rest of the series here . Sofia isn't the best at blowing bubbles by herself, but sure does have a (hilariously) good time trying. PS- more from where this came from soon!

REMEMBERING NOW, AUGUST 18TH, 2012

The remembering now project, 2012. Catch the rest of the series here . Oh, those big puppy dog eyes. They'll be coaxing me into whatever she wants for years and years.   It's almost time to give that wispy hair a trim, too!

REMEMBERING NOW AUGUST 14TH, 2012

The remembering now project, 2012.  Catch up with the rest of the series here . Sofia is 14 months old now and I'm having the most fun watching her bubbly personality turn completely and utterly goofy as she grows. She plays tricks on people like her Papa, and shares the same exact laugh as her Mama.

REMEMBERING NOW, AUGUST 1ST 2012

The remembering now project, 2012. Catch up with the rest of the series here . Some days, Target is where we finally get to leave the house and spend time together as a family.  Like I've heard people say before, I'm beginning to agree that their registers must be programmed to make whatever it is you're buying somehow ring up to be $100.  Silly Target.  ;)

IN THE BATH

Most nights its Sofia and I that share a bath together, so when Erick comes home from work early enough, sometimes he gets the opportunity to take part in one of my favorite moments in parenting.  Sofia has always loved the water.  Now, it's "ah-da!" but many months ago, before it even had a name, it was a time for stillness, to feed, to sway back and forth and listen to heartbeats while resting on my chest. I wish I had photos to remember those times, but I'm glad to have had the chance to capture these. She is so in love with him.
