mum + bub skincare review + giveaway!

Happy Wednesday to all of you!  It's my favorite day of the week. Today, I spent a lazy day at home with the girls and one thing we all enjoy doing when we get a little stir crazy is to hop in a bubble bath together and relax for a bit. I've always bathed with my girls, its an experience I know I'll cherish looking back on forever. When the wonderful people at aden + anais asked if I would review their new mum + bub skincare line, I immediately responded with a resounding "YES!" If anyone knows me, you know that I've already purchased every single swaddle they've ever made because I think they are the best things ever. I use them for everything under the sun: nursing covers, sleep blankets, sun shields, carseat covers, play blankets, and yes of course to swaddle Alba up at night. Knowing how much I already loved this company, I just knew that any avenue they pursued would have to turn out amazing - I was right. Today I'm g...

BOW TRUSS COFFEE ROASTERS

Thanks to the inside scoop from a good friend of mine, we were able to stop by a brand new coffee roaster in the Lakeview neighborhood today. Bow Truss is rustic, spacious, and simple- all of its decor reminds me of a snowy, vintage ski resort up in Vermont.  A strange, but welcome feeling in comparison to this Chicago summer. The prices are out of this world, nothing on their limited menu creeps higher than $3.  With an Intelligentsia across the street, they are definitely going to give them a run for their money.  I spent a good ten minutes chatting with whoever was working today, and unfortunately never caught his name, but I was thrilled at how genuinely interested he was in having sharing a conversation.  We talked about the launch, and he kindly gave me more information on their different roasts and how quickly the Bow Truss concept became a reality. I love this place. My only complaint is that I don't live close enough!...

THE MAYA WRAP - HOW WE GET AROUND

I love the Maya Wrap so much! It's really been the highlight of getting around with a new baby.  Sofia loves being close to me, whether we're washing the dishes, feeding, getting groceries, or walking around outside.  I would be absolutely lost without this, and I can't wait to try out some other baby-wearing methods.

WE HAVE SOMETHING COMING FOR YOU...

Sofia, Erick and I are in the process of putting together a video demo of the Maya Wrap   and I am so excited to show you all.  Sofia had three outfit changes in the middle of her first real video shoot, and let me tell you - we are so lucky this little girl loves to get naked.  Haha.  She absolutely loves getting changed!  We're not done with it yet, though so I figured during our editing process I would throw up a few stills to tide you over till then!  Can't wait.

PATCHOULI ZUM BAR

So I know I'm a Lush girl at heart, but I just can't get over indigo wild's zum bar patchouli soap.  It's all natural (really)  and the smell isn't super overpowering.  My skin always feels ridiculously soft when I'm done with my showers and it's great on your face, too!

The Skinny: MMM Melting Marshmallow Moment from LUSH

Well isn't that a mouthful.  Tonight I'm reviewing one of the many Lush goodies I was gifted (surprisingly) tonight after a random State Street Macy's trip.  Erick is seriously, seriously, seriously  the best.  And if all of y'all have never heard of Lush, I suggest you not online visit their site , but go walk into one of their stores.  I kid you not- it's like being an adult in a candy store.  The smells are overpowering, but not in a Yankee Candle kind of way... more like a yummy bath things kind of way.  I'll be honest in saying most men would rather not enjoy this journey, but your woman will definitely love you even more if you treat her to some Lush every once and a while.  Just saying. So on to the marshmallow magical goodness.  This pinkish cupcake adorable little guy is about a $6 indulgence.  And while that is a little steep for a one-use, you could easily take a butter knife to him and get 2-3 baths instead.  This is fr...
