We fittingly celebrated the first days of summer by taking a trip to the beach, the four of us.  It still doesn't get old saying that! Alba sleeps most of the day until she decides she'd like a snack of milk or realizes gas bubbles are on par with the world ending. Sofia's fear of sand has vanished, and she is determined to swim by herself though she hasn't the slightest clue of how to do it yet. It's amazing watching her throw herself into the water, smile on her face and sand in her hair.

    she is so precious. I've been quite absent over the past wee while but absolutely loving your pictures of sweet Alba and especially the two girls together. Sisters are so special. xx

    these are fantastic! living a good 4 hours from any beach is like a slow form of torture for us when summer comes. little kiddos belong on the sandy shores!

    Ah the fear of sand. E was the same, we went to the beach many times with her in socks and shoes and her bathing suit because she couldn't hand the feel of sand between her toes! Jealous of your sunshine, it's freezing here!

bump : week 23

The sub-zero weather has kept us indoors, but it hasn't kept us from having the most amount of fun possible.  I've been enjoying hot cups of tea served with teaspoons of sugar and condensed milk, curling up with my favorite blanket and enjoying the tap-tap, nudge-nudge of the littlest De La Rosa.  Though I find myself playing catch up yet again (I'm 24 weeks!) "A portrait of my child, once a week, every week, in 2013." SOFIA:  You are my goofy child, my prankster.  You are the spitting image of your Papa, though every now and again I find some piece of myself in you and it makes me pause.  You are my lover, and you are my fighter.  You greet me in the morning with sweet, breathy kisses that only the mouth of a little girl can give.  I hope you will look back on this blog and find strength when you're feeling kicked-down, confidence when you're doubting your abilities, and daily reminders of how much love we have for you, for our home, for our marriage, for this little life we've made.  I am thankful for every day I get to be your mum, and you are certainly becoming the most beautiful soul I could have hoped to raise.
