Photoroll and my Big Girl Desk.

1. Crib completion, finally.
2. Spent the day downtown.
3. Ring shopping. *sigh!!*
4. Homemade chilaquiles
5. Apple munching in the sunlight.
6.  We clean up pretty nicely.

Just a quick update before I turn in for the night.  I really hope to pick up this desk in the next few weeks.  I really need it, and can't wait to put it in my little corner.  Man.  My own space.  It's going to be fantastic.  I am absolutely worn out tonight, we spent the entire day cleaning.  We really needed to get the apartment looking better, though so I won't complain too much.  Now I'm off to soak my tired back and *hopefully* convince someone to massage it before he's too tired to do it. :)

also i'm like insanely jealous you went to LUSH! haha i wish i had a bathtub that wasn't like a fake bathtub and normal sized people could fit in it. (for the record they can't)

i also decided (just now) that we need to hang out outside of work. i think our relationship level has reached that pivotal point. intense right? i know. gimme your thoughts.

dang this comment was unnecessarily long.

    - i know, right?! this is becoming a dream come true.

    - i will never take for granted having a bathtub in my house. i will not settle for a shower. i just wont. how can i now that i've found lush?

    - i happen to agree with you 100%. we can sit and drink our tea/coffees talk about nicely designed baby things, try out new recipes and then proceed to blog about it. maybe it could be a new section for both of us and we'll record our adventures. LOL.

    - & this. how. HOW?

Easter Weekend

Hello! Happy mid-week to you. This is the roll of photos we shot over our Easter weekend , and oh what a wonderful weekend it was. It was so nice to have family here to visit - even if the weather was cooler than we anticipated! We visited the redwoods in Felton, ate vegetarian burritos, went to the epic shoreside in Montara, and the brewing company in Half Moon Bay. Our hearts are full and our home is feeling quite empty now ;) As a side note, I've found a renewed love with film. This is a post for another time, but it bears mentioning here! There has been much on my mind re: photography, and hopefully this will be the space I can share that. For the curious, all the above were shot on a Nikon FM10 with Fuji Superia 400 speed film.

bump : week 22

I've said it before, but if I could pack up and move my entire family straight into the By The Barkers studio space, I would. Absolute heaven! As for our little one, he or she has been giving me strong, swift kicks - especially around bed time.  Waves and ripples dance across my belly as I lay in bed waiting, watching.  I'll admit, it's been difficult for Erick and I since we've decided to keep things a surprise as far as the gender.  We were both so used to the feeling of knowing with Sofia that it's made this pregnancy a completely unique experience.  My intuition keeps swaying back and forth wondering if this little one is a boy or girl, and judging by the way that I look, feel and eat, my best guess is that we have another little lady on the way. (Though, if you ask Sofia, she's already told us she thinks baby is a "bruh-der")  !!! Mamas out there, was your intuition right? Any tell-tale signs or...

welcoming fall: hiking together

A while back, I had posted about dreading the change of the season.  I was so caught up in my whirlwind of a summer, the beautiful weather, the bare feet, the music and late night dancing in the wilderness, camping, and vacations that I barely remembered or welcomed the un-rushed pace that comes with the beginning of fall. Living in the middle of the city has been a blessing for finding new, exciting and bustling places to eat and explore, but so many times I'm wishing for the opportunity to do something a little less... urban .  I grew up in the country, and Erick, in the city- so now we've been doing our best to give our child the best of both worlds. We took a drive about 40 minutes south of the city to a little place in the suburbs and welcomed the crisp and cool air that kissed our cheeks as we embarked on a tiny adventure in the forest.  Hiking with a toddler is such an enriching exper...
