STL // RECAP

Saint Louis, you were good to us.

This was such a fantastic little adventure for us two!  We were able to find some great new places to eat, walk around in the 90 degree sun and manage not to melt, and even had a few opportunities to stay out later than our usual 9PM bedtime.  I'm sure many of you already saw my daily food snaps over on Instagram and if you ever happen to visit, I highly recommend Half and Half for a delicious brunch or Rooster for some quite strong morning cocktails. ;)  I have to say that was the first time I was ever buzzing at breakfast and it was... weird.

This city also happens to be the home of one of my other great friends that I haven't seen in a long, long time.  I was so thrilled when she gave me a ring late on Sunday night so we could catch up and make last minute plans for a coffee chat before we left on Monday morning.  It is so rejuvenating to make up for lost time with friends that just pick up where they left off with you.  Blair is witty, kind, and wise beyond her years- if I could, I would have snatched her up and packed her in my suitcase for Chicago!

It still hasn't hit me that the end of this month, May 28th specifically, that I will have been a married woman for a full year.  A lot of it seems like a blur.  A good and happy blur, though.  Time moves so quickly when you're enjoying yourself and working your tail off around the clock.  I savor all of these seconds and little moments we've had together, and am especially thankful we can take a long-weekend getaway every now and again as a married couple.

I am so grateful.

  1. It sounds like you had a fun trip. Happy first anniversary to you!

I love the friendships that pick up exactly where they left off. They're good for the soul. They almost always help me reset.

  3. One of my favorite things to do with Chris is explore a new city that's not necessarily known as a vacation hot spot. Our trips mostly revolve around food, too :) Looks like you guys had some good adventures in STL.

Week 27 Update

Hello fellow internet peoples.  Decided to give a HD video update for the beginning of my third trimester.  (WE SO EXCITED!)  It was a ton of fun to make, this time we were at home in Chicago.  Erick had a bunch of lighting equipment after all the interviews he did with the chicago school councils, so before he had to ship them back we took full advantage ;)  I'm learning more about codec and h.264 and prores 422 and although it makes absolutely no sense to me, maybe it will be useful knowledge in the future.  What do I know? It was obviously a very gesture laden, emotional, 10 minute interview.  I hope you all enjoy it.  It really is longer than I expected but instead of completely chopping it up, I decided to leave it how it is.  It's pure, natural, pregnant-y goodness of brain farts, odd humor, and searching for the right words.  If you make it to the end, remind me to give you a gold star or something.  I'll do it. ** A ...

bump : week 23

The sub-zero weather has kept us indoors, but it hasn't kept us from having the most amount of fun possible.  I've been enjoying hot cups of tea served with teaspoons of sugar and condensed milk, curling up with my favorite blanket and enjoying the tap-tap, nudge-nudge of the littlest De La Rosa.  Though I find myself playing catch up yet again (I'm 24 weeks!) I'm not complaining in the least bit.  I've had this little family of mine all to myself for a full four days with no work, no emails, no agenda and no pressure.   Ahhhhh... happy winter celebration, little baby. PS- did you know Erick finally launched his website ?  It's up, it's responsive, and it's gorgeous. I'm a proud muma bear.
