36 weeks.

my little whale.

Today's routine doctors appointment proved to be a little more uncomfortable than I had originally expected-- let's just say I'm happy Erick didn't have to be at this one.  So, immediately upon arrival I was told to undress from the waist down.  Great.  Well at least I could expect to get violated at this appointment.  Wrong.

So Dr. Kim does her scheduled 36 week testing for something that baby could potentially contract from me during her arrival, called GBS or Groub B Streptococcus.  Here we go, legs up in the air with giant q-tip enroute straight for my lady parts.

WHAT THE?

Then, I get swabbed in the butthole.

Didn't anyone ever teach doctors to let you know when they're entering that specific area?  You can't just do that.  It's common courtesy.  You have to use your directional before you switch lanes.  And this is how I begin my day.  What about you guys?

  2. @Katherine- thought this might get a few laughs. ;) Oh well, I'd do anything for this baby. (and I guess that includes the violation of my behind from doctors!)

  5. The doc told me RIGHT before she did it. Like as my legs were up, right before she swabs there she tells me where she's going. Was NOT enough time to process it in my preggo brain - totally feel your woes on this! ;)

Week 27 Update

Hello fellow internet peoples.  Decided to give a HD video update for the beginning of my third trimester.  (WE SO EXCITED!)  It was a ton of fun to make, this time we were at home in Chicago.  Erick had a bunch of lighting equipment after all the interviews he did with the chicago school councils, so before he had to ship them back we took full advantage ;)  I'm learning more about codec and h.264 and prores 422 and although it makes absolutely no sense to me, maybe it will be useful knowledge in the future.  What do I know? It was obviously a very gesture laden, emotional, 10 minute interview.  I hope you all enjoy it.  It really is longer than I expected but instead of completely chopping it up, I decided to leave it how it is.  It's pure, natural, pregnant-y goodness of brain farts, odd humor, and searching for the right words.  If you make it to the end, remind me to give you a gold star or something.  I'll do it. ** A ...

bump : week 23

The sub-zero weather has kept us indoors, but it hasn't kept us from having the most amount of fun possible.  I've been enjoying hot cups of tea served with teaspoons of sugar and condensed milk, curling up with my favorite blanket and enjoying the tap-tap, nudge-nudge of the littlest De La Rosa.  Though I find myself playing catch up yet again (I'm 24 weeks!) I'm not complaining in the least bit.  I've had this little family of mine all to myself for a full four days with no work, no emails, no agenda and no pressure.   Ahhhhh... happy winter celebration, little baby. PS- did you know Erick finally launched his website ?  It's up, it's responsive, and it's gorgeous. I'm a proud muma bear.
