It feels good to see the sun

Today felt amazing, it was one of the few days I actually felt like I deserved to call this month May.

Now, I know we've had some 60, even 70 degree days but I'd really only get to spend maybe 10 or 15 minutes outside before I'd be back working an eight hour day indoors.  I really was able to soak it up today.

Erick was working on a wooden cloud cutout for the baby's room.  We're going to incorporate it into some kind of shelf we're going to make for all her little knick-knacks.  We've both been really "hands on" through this whole endeavor, each finding our own craft to undergo.

We want to say we've helped to build and provide a majority of the things our little girl will grow up to know and explore.

The grass is getting greener.  The blades are growing longer.  The branches in the trees are reaching up toward the warm light and everything is alive and thriving in our backyard.

Something about the quiet, dead of winter that (although peaceful at times) can really just be downright lonely and gray.

Walking outside to find this pleasant surprise this afternoon was all it took to change my mood for the better.  I often overlook these tiny miracles every day in the rush of the workweek.  I know truly today what it means to slow down, breathe deeply and take it all in.

You're almost 33 weeks, today!  Keep growing, baby.  We love you even more with every day that passes.  I can't wait till we finally get to see your cute little face.

I made you some mason-jar flower holders and bought you a little birdie for your new shelf.  I really hope you like them.

Week 27 Update

Hello fellow internet peoples.  Decided to give a HD video update for the beginning of my third trimester.  (WE SO EXCITED!)  It was a ton of fun to make, this time we were at home in Chicago.  Erick had a bunch of lighting equipment after all the interviews he did with the chicago school councils, so before he had to ship them back we took full advantage ;)  I'm learning more about codec and h.264 and prores 422 and although it makes absolutely no sense to me, maybe it will be useful knowledge in the future.  What do I know? It was obviously a very gesture laden, emotional, 10 minute interview.  I hope you all enjoy it.  It really is longer than I expected but instead of completely chopping it up, I decided to leave it how it is.  It's pure, natural, pregnant-y goodness of brain farts, odd humor, and searching for the right words.  If you make it to the end, remind me to give you a gold star or something.  I'll do it. ** A ...

bump : week 23

The sub-zero weather has kept us indoors, but it hasn't kept us from having the most amount of fun possible.  I've been enjoying hot cups of tea served with teaspoons of sugar and condensed milk, curling up with my favorite blanket and enjoying the tap-tap, nudge-nudge of the littlest De La Rosa.  Though I find myself playing catch up yet again (I'm 24 weeks!) I'm not complaining in the least bit.  I've had this little family of mine all to myself for a full four days with no work, no emails, no agenda and no pressure.   Ahhhhh... happy winter celebration, little baby. PS- did you know Erick finally launched his website ?  It's up, it's responsive, and it's gorgeous. I'm a proud muma bear.
