week 35.

Every day I can be comfy in my gray sweats is a good day.

Hey there!  So really, when I even think about being 35 weeks it kind of hits me like a sack of bricks.  I am almost done.  I'm petrified and excited and hurting and laughing all at the same time.  All of these emotions and feeling and everything happens all at once.  Pregnancy, in a nutshell.  I've never been more excited to meet this little girl in my entire life, and I know that I love her even more with each day that passes.  Even when she uses my ribs as a dance floor at 4AM.

A few thing lately about this week- I received a Boppy pillow for baby at the last baby shower.  What is great about this thing is that even though I guess it's for baby, I have been using it to try and sleep and ease the pain I've been having in my hips.  Resourceful!  We also had to install the wall AC unit because of those 90 degree days that quickly (thanks, Illinois) became 30 degree days.  I don't even know what to think anymore about our weather.  We left it in though, because I'm hoping it starts to warm up again.

I also got these awesome new cereal bowls at Target because I love Target and I love cereal.  It's disgusting how much cereal I go through a day.  I think I could honestly eat cereal for every meal, every day of my life. It's the perfect snack!  So much variety.  That has been my number one consistent pregnancy craving for these past eight and a half months.  Man... if we don't have cereal or milk in the house... watch out.

Easter Weekend

Hello! Happy mid-week to you. This is the roll of photos we shot over our Easter weekend , and oh what a wonderful weekend it was. It was so nice to have family here to visit - even if the weather was cooler than we anticipated! We visited the redwoods in Felton, ate vegetarian burritos, went to the epic shoreside in Montara, and the brewing company in Half Moon Bay. Our hearts are full and our home is feeling quite empty now ;) As a side note, I've found a renewed love with film. This is a post for another time, but it bears mentioning here! There has been much on my mind re: photography, and hopefully this will be the space I can share that. For the curious, all the above were shot on a Nikon FM10 with Fuji Superia 400 speed film.

Hello, It's Me

* screeeeeeech.... opens door * Hello? Are you in there? I'm baaaaaaack! Holy shnikeys! It's only been a good two years or so. Talk about a blogging hiatus. So, after many many failed attempts at fancy Squarespace sites and having absolutely zero direction on which way I wanted to go, I found myself right back here. Good 'ol blogger. Good 'ol free simple template. Good 'ol feed with all my old friends. It's been a long, long time. And it feels weird! But I'm dusting off the cobwebs anyway and just writing because I need to. Plain and simple. Now, a few things-- the blog title is a bit different. My kiddos are nearly three and five years old so diapers [thankfully] are a thing of the past. Hallelujah! And if you haven't heard, folks, skinny jeans are out. They're done! Bring on the bellbottoms, culottes and 90's fashion revival. You heard it here first, everyone. Just wait.  Also. Growing up. I kinda laugh at how much...

alba growing: one month

A few weeks ago, Little Alba turned a month old - still so new and tiny, but a precious soul that seems like she's been here all along.  Her thighs are quickly chunking up, as are her cheeks, and this mama can't get enough! The days are long and my time is stretched thin, but we are having such a wonderful time just figuring each other out. When evening hits, the tummy troubles begin and we rock and sing to make the gas bubbles go away. Once you've finally fallen asleep, you'll remain that way for the remainder of the night and we'll feed again once the day breaks.  You are alert and learning, constantly filling our hearts with more love than we ever imagined.
