mail day

Oh, was this just the pick up I needed today!  Sofia received her gorgeous bonnet from Greer at Typically Red and Mama treated herself to a new case (now my iPhone can go incognito while in Mexico.)  Usually if we order something online our shipments spread themselves out over the week, but today everything came at once!  I couldn't believe it.  I had posted a while ago on Facebook about how amazing the craftsmanship of the Typically Red knits were, but after seeing it in person I can truly vouch for the time and love put into every woven row.  I'm thinking I may have to pick up a neutral color to fit bebe's tiny head next winter... eep!

Is it obvious I had a bit of retail therapy a few weeks ago?

Week 27 Update

Hello fellow internet peoples.  Decided to give a HD video update for the beginning of my third trimester.  (WE SO EXCITED!)  It was a ton of fun to make, this time we were at home in Chicago.  Erick had a bunch of lighting equipment after all the interviews he did with the chicago school councils, so before he had to ship them back we took full advantage ;)  I'm learning more about codec and h.264 and prores 422 and although it makes absolutely no sense to me, maybe it will be useful knowledge in the future.  What do I know? It was obviously a very gesture laden, emotional, 10 minute interview.  I hope you all enjoy it.  It really is longer than I expected but instead of completely chopping it up, I decided to leave it how it is.  It's pure, natural, pregnant-y goodness of brain farts, odd humor, and searching for the right words.  If you make it to the end, remind me to give you a gold star or something.  I'll do it. ** A ...

bump : a thank you

Thank you all so much for the warm welcome on our littlest growing member of the De La Rosa family - we are so lucky and blessed, that is for sure!  Lots of time has been spent the past few weeks celebrating with friends and family, though a certain "weight" has been lifted now that it's truly out in the open.  (Ahhhh...)   Erick and I knew right away that this go-around, we were going to try everything we could to have the birth we wanted, so we've switched our prenatal care from a standard OBGYN practitioner to one of the only midwife groups in the state.  Although it is becoming more common, midwives and water births are still extremely difficult to come by.   In Illinois specifically, there are only two birthing centers in a 50 mile radius willing to offer this to us - and one of these didn't take our healthcare plan.  It's crazy how many long nights were spent researching on the web and phoning out to different practices, but I am so happ...
