bump : week 25












Thump-thump!  We have a little soccer player on our hands!  Baby De La Rosa has been kicking more often, and with much more gusto than the previous weeks. Most afternoons I am completely and utterly wiped out, morning and afternoon naps have been my only saving grace.  I've found that consequently, the lack of energy that has halted my yoga practice has now led to some weakening back muscles (okay, everywhere muscles) and well, whoever said you get boundless energy in the second trimester was totally wrong when it comes to making this baby. Erick has been showering me with back rubs and moments to nap and I couldn't ask for anything more.

I love my husband.

PS- being able to adventure outside again is just the cherry on top of it all!

    I can relate! The second time around, especially while chasing around a toddler, does NOT increase your energy in that second trimester. Get as much rest as you can, muma! You deserve it. You are growing a whole human, after all. ;)

    That snow! It's got me all excited. We are off to Canada tomorrow from sunny, hot Australia and we're just about jumping out of our skins with excitement to play in the snow!

    Gorgeous photos! Seems so funny looking at your shots of the snow while it's disgustingly hot here in Western Australia :) You look amazing... like you though, I found it was a little further into my second trimester before I had more energy again :) Hang in there, before you know it, you'll be in a nesting frenzy in your final weeks xx

      Just hand paint the ends in a caramel blonde color (bleach with a bit of toner), and don't foil them. I left them on for around 30-45 minutes or so. It's lasted forever, though I've been debating lately to go back to all one color.

Easter Weekend

Hello! Happy mid-week to you. This is the roll of photos we shot over our Easter weekend , and oh what a wonderful weekend it was. It was so nice to have family here to visit - even if the weather was cooler than we anticipated! We visited the redwoods in Felton, ate vegetarian burritos, went to the epic shoreside in Montara, and the brewing company in Half Moon Bay. Our hearts are full and our home is feeling quite empty now ;) As a side note, I've found a renewed love with film. This is a post for another time, but it bears mentioning here! There has been much on my mind re: photography, and hopefully this will be the space I can share that. For the curious, all the above were shot on a Nikon FM10 with Fuji Superia 400 speed film.

Hello, It's Me

* screeeeeeech.... opens door * Hello? Are you in there? I'm baaaaaaack! Holy shnikeys! It's only been a good two years or so. Talk about a blogging hiatus. So, after many many failed attempts at fancy Squarespace sites and having absolutely zero direction on which way I wanted to go, I found myself right back here. Good 'ol blogger. Good 'ol free simple template. Good 'ol feed with all my old friends. It's been a long, long time. And it feels weird! But I'm dusting off the cobwebs anyway and just writing because I need to. Plain and simple. Now, a few things-- the blog title is a bit different. My kiddos are nearly three and five years old so diapers [thankfully] are a thing of the past. Hallelujah! alba growing: one month

A few weeks ago, Little Alba turned a month old - still so new and tiny, but a precious soul that seems like she's been here all along.  Her thighs are quickly chunking up, as are her cheeks, and this mama can't get enough! The days are long and my time is stretched thin, but we are having such a wonderful time just figuring each other out. When evening hits, the tummy troubles begin and we rock and sing to make the gas bubbles go away. Once you've finally fallen asleep, you'll remain that way for the remainder of the night and we'll feed again once the day breaks.  You are alert and learning, constantly filling our hearts with more love than we ever imagined.
