bump : week 25

Thump-thump!  We have a little soccer player on our hands!  Baby De La Rosa has been kicking more often, and with much more gusto than the previous weeks. Most afternoons I am completely and utterly wiped out, morning and afternoon naps have been my only saving grace.  I've found that consequently, the lack of energy that has halted my yoga practice has now led to some weakening back muscles (okay, everywhere muscles) and well, whoever said you get boundless energy in the second trimester was totally wrong when it comes to making this baby. Erick has been showering me with back rubs and moments to nap and I couldn't ask for anything more.

I love my husband.

PS- being able to adventure outside again is just the cherry on top of it all!

  6. I can relate! The second time around, especially while chasing around a toddler, does NOT increase your energy in that second trimester. Get as much rest as you can, muma! You deserve it. You are growing a whole human, after all. ;)

That snow! It's got me all excited. We are off to Canada tomorrow from sunny, hot Australia and we're just about jumping out of our skins with excitement to play in the snow!

  8. Gorgeous photos! Seems so funny looking at your shots of the snow while it's disgustingly hot here in Western Australia :) You look amazing... like you though, I found it was a little further into my second trimester before I had more energy again :) Hang in there, before you know it, you'll be in a nesting frenzy in your final weeks xx

    1. Just hand paint the ends in a caramel blonde color (bleach with a bit of toner), and don't foil them. I left them on for around 30-45 minutes or so. It's lasted forever, though I've been debating lately to go back to all one color.

the birthing of alba mae

From the beginning, this pregnancy seemed so much the same, yet so distinctly different all at once. I didn't get sick, I wasn't too turned away by my favorite foods, I had occasional heartburn here and there and overall, was able to relax and enjoy the experience.  What was strange was how differently I was carrying - having been told more times than I could count that I had looked as if I had "swallowed a basketball".  I think I was persuaded a few times in my head that maybe this was  different, maybe it really was a baby boy.  Yet still, in my heart I had an overwhelming intuition I would be holding another little girl in my arms, someone so very similar to her sister yet so distinctly different all at once. My little may flower. Saturday night, the air was warm and sticky.  Sofia, Erick and I read stories by a big window fan in her room trying to distract ourselves from the heat in our upstairs apartment. ...
