2012 : our year in review

Whew!  Seriously!  What a year we had, right?  Imagine the cheesiest, most goofiest-looking smile ever because right now, looking back on all these photos and highlights keeps one glued to my face.  I originally wanted to link back to some of my favorite posts from last year, but then I got too enthralled in designing one giant mosaic of photos that... ehrm... hours (and I will not mention how many hours) later, I was still sitting at the computer with no post to show!  I'm quite pleased in how it all came together,  I only wish I had saved a high-res version to hang for our wall.  Rats!  Next year, I suppose.  Not one second goes by that I don't just sit here completely and utterly shocked at how lucky we are, Erick and I.  All of the friendships we've made, old and new, continue to motivate and inspire us to do bigger and better things.  I am most looking forward to getting to know each and every one of you much better in 2013.  This is my pledge!  And as for the De La Rosa family- we've had three different trips to three different states, painted our entire apartment, were blessed with a new, growing family member, have taken on more freelance work in photo and video than we ever were prepared to do, and loved every single minute of it.  It's all been one crazy, joyous, chaotic and blissful ride. Thank you, 2012 for all you've taught me.  I've learned, I've grown, I've celebrated, I've cried, I've failed, I've loved, I've laughed, I've muma-ed until my heart could burst!  I can't wait to share more about my plans for continuing to grow this blog of mine.

A fresh start, a new year!

Thank you all for coming along for the ride.

  9. I LOVE this! I want to give you the biggest bear hug. I couldn't be happier for you and your family and I hope this year is just as crazy and blissful as the last :)

Your photo mosaic need to be a 24x36 poster! You've already done all the hard work so if you have all the images saved in one place it won't take long to recreate. use indesign to import them. you could also use a ps batch to resize if needed. ;)

  10. What a wonderful collection of 2012. Not to make you crazy, but I agree with Carrie... you should TOTALLY recreate a high res version of this! It's just too good to not have on your wall to stare at every day. Every. Day.

Here's to 2013! I hope it's even better than this past year for you and your family!

Week 27 Update

Hello fellow internet peoples.  Decided to give a HD video update for the beginning of my third trimester.  (WE SO EXCITED!)  It was a ton of fun to make, this time we were at home in Chicago.  Erick had a bunch of lighting equipment after all the interviews he did with the chicago school councils, so before he had to ship them back we took full advantage ;)  I'm learning more about codec and h.264 and prores 422 and although it makes absolutely no sense to me, maybe it will be useful knowledge in the future.  What do I know? It was obviously a very gesture laden, emotional, 10 minute interview.  I hope you all enjoy it.  It really is longer than I expected but instead of completely chopping it up, I decided to leave it how it is.  It's pure, natural, pregnant-y goodness of brain farts, odd humor, and searching for the right words.  If you make it to the end, remind me to give you a gold star or something.  I'll do it. ** A FEW NOTES ** So there is a great shop fea

bump : week 23

The sub-zero weather has kept us indoors, but it hasn't kept us from having the most amount of fun possible.  I've been enjoying hot cups of tea served with teaspoons of sugar and condensed milk, curling up with my favorite blanket and enjoying the tap-tap, nudge-nudge of the littlest De La Rosa.  Though I find myself playing catch up yet again (I'm 24 weeks!) I'm not complaining in the least bit.  I've had this little family of mine all to myself for a full four days with no work, no emails, no agenda and no pressure.   Ahhhhh... happy winter celebration, little baby. PS- did you know Erick finally launched his website ?  It's up, it's responsive, and it's gorgeous. I'm a proud muma bear.
