a brand new morning

It was the perfect start to the brand new year - delicious spelt bread, peach preserves, slow-drip coffee and a bit of world news from the warmth of inside.  I plan on reflecting a lot about the past year, and scribbling out our plans for the next.  My biggest hope for the day is to spend some time cleaning up and starting the year with a fresh home and sorting through old photos for a "wrap-up of 2012" post I've been trying to organize.  I have so much gratitude for the growth I've seen to this space in the past year, and can't wait to continue to share our story with you. Thank you all for inspiring me and welcoming me into your community with open arms.  I feel so blessed.

Happy New Year, friends - from our family to yours, I truly hope this year is your best one yet.

If you find yourself needing a bit more inspiration, this post puts everything into perspective quite perfectly.

    1. I'm so, so glad that the link could offer some insight. That's exactly what it did for me - I had to share! Just the comfort of knowing that we will never stay stagnant even if we tried is enough to start this year on a high note. Thankful you've found your way over here, and I look forward to getting to know you better in the coming year! :) xo

Week 27 Update

Hello fellow internet peoples.  Decided to give a HD video update for the beginning of my third trimester.  (WE SO EXCITED!)  It was a ton of fun to make, this time we were at home in Chicago.  Erick had a bunch of lighting equipment after all the interviews he did with the chicago school councils, so before he had to ship them back we took full advantage ;)  I'm learning more about codec and h.264 and prores 422 and although it makes absolutely no sense to me, maybe it will be useful knowledge in the future.  What do I know? It was obviously a very gesture laden, emotional, 10 minute interview.  I hope you all enjoy it.  It really is longer than I expected but instead of completely chopping it up, I decided to leave it how it is.  It's pure, natural, pregnant-y goodness of brain farts, odd humor, and searching for the right words.  If you make it to the end, remind me to give you a gold star or something.  I'll do it. ** A FEW NOTES ** So there is a great shop fea

bump : week 23

The sub-zero weather has kept us indoors, but it hasn't kept us from having the most amount of fun possible.  I've been enjoying hot cups of tea served with teaspoons of sugar and condensed milk, curling up with my favorite blanket and enjoying the tap-tap, nudge-nudge of the littlest De La Rosa.  Though I find myself playing catch up yet again (I'm 24 weeks!) I'm not complaining in the least bit.  I've had this little family of mine all to myself for a full four days with no work, no emails, no agenda and no pressure.   Ahhhhh... happy winter celebration, little baby. PS- did you know Erick finally launched his website ?  It's up, it's responsive, and it's gorgeous. I'm a proud muma bear.
